Technical Training on WaterMap N-Africa Platform Held in Morocco to Enhance Agricultural Water Resource ManagementOn 24–25 November 2025, the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), together with the Royal Center for Remote Sensing (CRTS) and Chouaib Doukkali University (UCD), hosted a technical training workshop on “WaterMap N-Africa: Monitoring Platform for Agricultural Water Resources and Water Use in North Africa.” Supported by the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (ANSO) research project, the training took place at the CRTS headquarters in Rabat. This was the second WaterMap N-Africa training offered in the region, following its initial rollout in Tunisia, and attracted over 20 participants from Moroccan research institutions and government agencies engaged in remote sensing, agriculture, and water resource management.

AIRCAS and CONICET Strengthen Cooperation on Vegetation and Ecosystem ResearchDr. Guillermo Pastur, Senior Researcher at the Southern Centre for Scientific Research (CADIC) of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), Argentina, recently concluded his visit to the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), under the CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) program. His visit marked another step forward in the growing scientific partnership between China and Argentina in remote sensing ecology.

WaterMap N-Africa Workshop Held in Tunisia to Enhance North Africa's Capacity for Water Resources and Agricultural Water Use MonitoringThe Technical Training Workshop on Monitoring and Assessment of Water Resources and Agricultural Water Use in North Africa was successfully held in Tunis, Tunisia, on October 27–28, 2025. The event was jointly organized by the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS) and the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS), with support from the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) research project "WaterMap N-Africa."

AIRCAS Strengthens Regional Cooperation through Academic Exchanges in ThailandA delegation from the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), carried out a series of academic exchange activities in Thailand, focusing on technical cooperation and partnership building. The team participated in the 17th Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observations (AOGEO) Symposium and visited the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) for in-depth discussions on regional collaboration.

AIRCAS Researchers Strengthen UK Partnerships on Crop Monitoring and Smart AgricultureA research team led by Prof. HUANG Wenjiang and Dr. ZHANG Biyao from the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), visited the Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Southampton in the UK from September 19 to 22, 2025. The visit was conducted under the framework of the Sino-UK Crop Pest and Disease Forecasting & Management Joint Laboratory, a CAS-level international research unit.
