AIR-led Project Funded by ESA-MOST Dragon 5 Programme
The project “Cross-calibration between high-resolution optical satellites and the benchmark satellite based on RadCalNet” was granted by the fifth phase of the Dragon Programmme (or Dragon 5) which was jointly launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) together with the National Remote Sensing Center of China (NRSCC) under China’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).

AIR Conducts Flight Tests on Geological Disaster Monitoring along Sichuan-Tibet Railway
A three-member team from the CAS Key Laboratory of Quantitative Remote Sensing Information Technology under AIR, including Tengger, ZHOU Zeng-Guang and CHENG Sai carried out flight tests over Changdu region, Tibet of China from October 23 to November 2 to test a system titled "miniaturized high steady state UAV active imaging system for ground disaster monitoring".

Near Space Aerostat Experimental Station Starts Construction
The near space aerostat experimental station,a national science and education infrastructure has started construction in Siziwang Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on November 14 to promote the development of the near space aerostat technology of China, according to the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

GEOARC Releases Three Reports and Thematic Datasets on Climate Change, Food Security and Sustainable City
The Global Ecosystem and Environment Observation Analysis Research Cooperation (GEOARC) mainly focuses on ecological and environmental monitoring at global and regional scales,offering information consultation to support GEO priorities, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Paris Agreement, and Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. GEOARC has established a cooperation network to release annual reports share related datasets. China’s leading activity GEOARC has accomplished some really interesting progress and achievements in 2020, including three reports on Changes in Antarctic Ice Sheet, Grain Production Outlook, and the State of Food Security, Global Urban Land Composition and Expansion in 2000–2020, respectively.
