Jun 22, 2024

The Journal Citation Reports (JCR), released by Clarivate on June 20, 2024, awarded the Journal of Remote Sensing an impressive first impact factor of 8.8. This significant achievement places the journal fifth globally in the remote sensing field.

Sponsored by the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Journal of Remote Sensing is an English-language publication that ranks in the top tier (Q1) across multiple related disciplines. These include remote sensing, environmental science, earth science, and photographic science and technology. This recognition highlights the journal's rapid rise in international influence since its inception.

Launched in October 2020, the Journal of Remote Sensing is the first partner journal in the remote sensing field associated with Science Publishing Group. The journal has been quickly included in several prestigious databases, such as Web of Science (WOS) Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Scopus, Engineering Index (EI), CAB Abstracts, Inspec, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System.

Operating on an open-access platform, the Journal of Remote Sensing focuses on publishing cutting-edge, original research from international scientists in the remote sensing field. It also features academic articles addressing key scientific issues within this domain.
