The 4th International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals
Sep 06, 2024
The year 2024 marks the commencement of a new phase following the mid-term review of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Nevertheless, the unprecedented challenges impeding the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have propelled the global community into a renewed stage of reassessment and expedited efforts toward realizing these objectives. There is now a substantial global consensus on the pivotal role of science, technology, and innovation in advancing the United Nations SDGs. Big data, as a prime representative of cutting-edge science and technology, exhibits massive, multi-source, multi-temporal, multi-dimensional, and multi-scale characteristics. This enables macro and dynamic monitoring and analysis of SDGs, offering a comprehensive understanding of key impediments to the sustainable development process and facilitating the discovery of holistic solutions.
To foster knowledge sharing, technological progress, and application demonstrations in the realm of big data and Al technologies for sustainable development, and to encourage transformative actions for the effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda in the coming seven years, The 4th International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (FBAS) is scheduled to take place in Beijing from September 6 to 8, 2024.
