5th Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observations (AOGEO) Workshop

The 5th Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observations (AOGEO) Workshop, hosted by National Remote Sensing Center of China (NRSCC), organized by GEO Secretariat, AOGEO, and the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), will take place online during June 15-17, 2022.

AOGEO is a Regional Group on Earth Observations (Regional GEO) which envisions a future where decisions and actions for the benefit of humankind are informed by coordinated, comprehensive and sustained observations. AOGEO Workshop serves as a regional forum for AOGEO community to exchange scientific and technical views on Earth observations and their applications, and for the global community to learn the progress of AOGEO.

This year, with the theme of "Harmony and Empowerment-Accelerate Action and Development for Local Needs", the 5th AOGEO Workshop will focus on the progress of IPS (Integrated Priority Studies activities), cases studies and technical advances for addressing urban resilience and human settlements, emerging technical exchange and practice from youth, outcomes of capacity building efforts, aiming to achieve harmonious development of AOGEO, fast transmission of GEO latest trends to AOGEO community, and empowering the use of EO for local impact.

The 5th AOGEO Workshop will feature the following sessions.

•  IPS Special Session 1: Himalayan Region;
•  IPS Special Session 2: Pacific Islands Countries and Regions;
•  Session 1: Cases and Technical Advances for Addressing Urban Resilience and Human Settlements;
•  Session 2: Emerging Technical Exchange and Practice from Youth;
•  Session 3: Outcomes Sharing of Capacity Building.

Everyone interested in EO and its application is expected to join in this workshop and exchange your ideas with colleagues from Asia-Oceania region. We are looking forward to your participation!
