Prof. WEI Dongyan Elected as IPIN Steering Committee Member

According to the official website of the International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation (IPIN), Prof. WEI Dongyan from the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)was elected as a Steering Committee member.
Prof. WEI Dongyan is currently working as a professor at AIR. His research focuses on autonomous navigation based on environmental intelligent perception. He is the co-chair of 12th and 13th IPIN (International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation).
Indoor navigation and positioning is known as the "last mile" of navigation and positioning, involving many industries and fields such as transportation, shopping and finance, care for special people, safety production, etc. IPIN is the largest and most influential international conference in the field of indoor positioning and navigation in the world, which was firstly held in 2010 by ETH Zurich. It is held once a year, with sessions including 5G Positioning, Magnetic Localization, Crowd Source & Machine Learning Systems, Indoor Mapping, SLAM, Inertial and Hybrid Systems, etc.
IPIN aims to provide a platform of cooperation and communication and demonstrate the highest level of indoor positioning and navigation in the world. For the past decade, The IPIN has been successfully held in 13 cities in 11 countries, which greatly promoted the development of indoor positioning and navigation.
The IPIN Steering Committee (SC) is formed by a group of representatives of the academia, research institutions and of industry, including two emeritus members and 10 regular members. Its mission is to promote joint initiatives within the area of indoor positioning and navigation, including the annual conferences.
The participation in The IPIN Steering Committee will further broaden the international collaboration network of navigation systems department as well as AIR/CAS in the field of indoor positioning and navigation.
