The Beijing Declaration on Digital Belt and Road included in the List of Multilateral Cooperation Deliverables of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation

The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF III) was convened on 18 October 2023 in Beijing. The Beijing Declaration on Digital Belt and Road, issued by the International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS) together with scholars from 25 countries and regions, has been included in the List of Multilateral Cooperation Deliverables of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation as one of the 14 “Deliverables of Non-government Cooperation Platforms”. The document is part of the Chair’s Statement of BRF III and comprises a total of 89 deliverables.
The Beijing Declaration on Digital Belt and Road was released at the closing ceremony of the 7th Digital Belt and Road Conference held in Beijing. It calls for continued efforts to empower Belt and Road countries with technological innovation platforms and capabilities. The conference was hosted by the Digital Belt and Road Program (DBAR) and jointly organized by CBAS and the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences.
DBAR is a science program which was launched in 2016 by Chinese scientists. It aims to enhance scientific cooperation, facilitate data-driven decision-making and policy processes, and promote collective development among the Belt and Road countries. The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of China’s proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which has significantly contributed to economic development and improved people's livelihood in various parts of the world. Additionally, it also presents the mid-point of the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which still faces serious challenges and difficulties. By 2023, DBAR has established nine Working Groups and nine International Centers of Excellence, with 59 partners spread across four continents that are working on six SDGs.
