20120516170827-1582616907Dr. Jiahua Zhang is research professor of Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and chief scientist in global climate change and diaster remote sensing field. His research includes climate change & atmospheric environment remote sensing, atmospheric–hydrological–ecological cycles, earth system interaction estimation and modelling; Diaster monitoring and assessment using remote sensing, modeling and GIS, e.g., drought, forest fire, flooding, dust storm,UHI, snow cover, etc; others research interesting cover land use and cover changes, vegetation dynamic, ecological investigation, effection of climate change on agriculture. He has been Principle Investigator for over Ten major national projects or programs in China, and Principle Investigator for several international  coperation projects. He has published more than 100 peer review papers, 30 internationl conferences papers and 6 books. Dr. Jiahua Zhang received his M.S. degree from the Institute of Botany, CAS in Vegetational Ecology 1995 ;  and Ph.D. degree in the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, CAS in Cartography and Remote Sensing in 1998. From 1998-1999, he was a post-doctor in the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, CAS;  from 1999-2001, he was a  post-doctor and a STA Fellow in the National Institute for Environmental Studies, Japan. Since Jan. 2002, he has been a professor at Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences, Director of Remote Sensing and Climate information Sciences. From 2012 to present,  he is full professor in the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth,CAS.
